The Colorado Trust has funded and participated in the Community Resource Center’s Rural Philanthropy Days program since 2009. Rural Philanthropy Days connects nonprofits and funders in order to improve health and well-being in rural regions of the state.

The Colorado Trust has distributed more than 150 grants after the annual Rural Philanthropy Days conference, which helps rural nonprofits across the state.

When National Guard soldier James Thode was killed by an explosive in Afghanistan in December 2010, his neighbors in Farmington, N.M. showed up in droves for the funeral, his mother remembers.

The Colorado Trust awarded $25,000 in grants to recognize nonprofits in Southwestern Colorado working to improve health and well-being in their communities.
