Health Policy & Advocacy
2013 to 2017

An educational program of The Colorado Trust, the Health Equity Learning Series aims to increase knowledge and awareness of health equity through presentations from experts discussing factors that increase disparities and solutions that advance health equity.

The 2016-17 event series has concluded. Full event recordings (both video and podcast), presentation materials and more are available at the individual event pages below. Please check back later this year for details on future Health Equity Learning Series events and funding opportunities, or sign up for our mailing list to be automatically notified when information become available.

To expand the reach beyond those able to attend Health Equity Learning Series events in person, The Trust partnered with organizations across the state (see grantee list at right) to show recordings of the events in their communities, followed by professional facilitated discussions. Please contact the grantee organization(s) directly for more information, or contact us if you’re unsure which grantee organization is closest to you.

Evaluation
To better understand the impact of the Health Equity Learning Series on the participants and to glean lessons learned for future efforts, an evaluation is being conducted by Melanie Tran, from University of Colorado Denver. All participants at both in-person events and at viewing parties across the state are surveyed and asked to self-report their knowledge of the health equity topics before and after the speech. Willingness to take action and types of action are also assessed. Grantees hosting viewing parties provide qualitative data, both written and via in-depth interviews, to better understand what is needed to achieve health equity in Colorado. Evaluation contact: Nancy Baughman Csuti, DrPH, director of Research, Evaluation & Strategic Learning, The Colorado Trust, 303-837-1200.
