Tu Salud Returns for a Second Season
By Cristina Bejarano, Tu Salud
We are very excited to announce the return of Tu Salud for a second season of programs aimed at building awareness and understanding about health care issues in Colorado. Tu Salud, a Spanish-language program of Project Health Colorado, will begin its second season this Saturday, March 16, at 10 p.m. MT on Univision Colorado.
Tu Salud, which is hosted by Univision Colorado News Director Luisa Collins, is a collaborative project produced by Evolve Communications and Entravision Television, featuring programing that educates audiences about how the health care system works and what viewers can do to improve their access to care. Spanish-speaking families share their stories by talking about their experiences, the barriers they have encountered and how they have benefited from critical services.
The second season of Tu Salud will feature exciting stories of Colorado Latinos seeking out and finding the health care they need. The show will highlight a variety of important health care topics, including immunizations, expansion of health insurance options, mental health and other topics about preventive health care and personal wellness. Tu Salud will also showcase how Latino families are advocating for themselves and making their voices heard on important health care issues.
During the first season of Tu Salud, nearly 10,000 households tuned in each week on average, with viewership peaking at 32,000 households. Based on survey data, more than 90 percent of Tu Salud viewers reported having a better understanding about health issues in their community as a result of watching the show.
Check it out on Saturdays at 10 p.m. MT on Univision Colorado. You can also learn more on the Tu Salud website or at Project Health Colorado.
