Community Partnerships for Health Equity: Context Matters

This learning brief examines when and how context matters and draws on data collected for the macro-evaluation of the Community Partnerships strategy (2014-22). Community systems-change initiatives are intended to change their contexts and at the same time, are also highly impacted by the contexts in which they operate. This interplay creates a complex and everchanging dynamic in which history, geography, relationships, natural and human-made disasters—as well as political, economic and social conditions—all come together to affect both the process and the results of initiatives.
