The Colorado Trust Names New Director of Communications

DENVER, COLO.Julian Kesner has been named as the new Director of Communications for The Colorado Trust. In this role, Kesner is responsible for management and support of The Trust’s communications, public relations and publications. He comes to The Trust from his position as Vice President of Communications and Media Relations for the Colorado Hospital Association.

“I am pleased to welcome Julian to the team,” said Ned Calonge, MD, MPH, president and CEO of The Colorado Trust. “Julian’s extensive communications expertise will help move us closer to our vision to achieve health equity for all Coloradans. His experience working throughout Colorado will be a key asset as we develop projects that address health equity in partnership with communities across the state.”

In his position with the Colorado Hospital Association, Kesner served as spokesperson for the organization and oversaw all internal and external communications strategies. Prior to this, Kesner managed public relations for the Nurse-Family Partnership National Service Office in Denver, and spent several years as senior health editor at Prevention magazine and a health and medical features writer for the New York Daily News.

In 2012, Kesner was honored as Professional of the Year by the Colorado Healthcare Communicators. Kesner received a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College.
