Rural Philanthropy Days (2025)
Leer en españolRural Philanthropy Days® began in 1990, aiming to connect nonprofits and funders to improve communities and lives in rural regions of the state. In 1989, Colorado’s private funders gave just 3% of their grant dollars to groups outside the Front Range, according to the Anschutz Family Foundation, which partnered with the Community Resource Center to start Rural Philanthropy Days. In 2017, more than 20% of funding went to rural nonprofits.
As part of The Colorado Trust’s commemoration of its 40th anniversary this year, we’re highlighting grantee programs like Rural Philanthropy Days. The Colorado Trust has funded and participated in Rural Philanthropy Days programming since 2009 and awarded grants to the Community Resource Center and more than 150 organizations.
