How The Trust Makes Grants

OUR GRANTMAKING begins with seeking to understand needs, and how we might best be able to help. We ask for input from grantees, community members and experts; conduct environmental scans; and examine trends and data. This information helps us to craft solutions, or initiatives, and then to partner with nonprofit organizations to address challenging issues. The Trust is also committed to evaluating effectiveness. Independent evaluations are conducted for each initiative and the findings are used to measure the results of the effort and to help us improve our future grantmaking.

A tailored set of criteria is requested from grant-seekers for each Trust initiative, usually in the form of Request for Proposals or Letters of Intent.
