Tri-County Health Department Receives Model Practice AwardThe Tri-County Health Department, a grantee of The Trust's Colorado Healthy People 2010 and Partnerships for Health initiatives, is the recipient of the National Association of County and City Health Officials' (NACCHO) 2006 Model Practices competition that recognizes innovative work between local health departments and communities to address public health issues. Specifically, the Tri-County Health Department was named one of 18 model practices nationwide - out of nearly 100 submissions - for its efforts as coordinating agency for The Trust's Healthy People 2010 objective of injury prevention in Metro Denver. NACCHO, representing the nation's approximately 3,000 local health departments, works to protect and improve the health of all people by promoting national policy, developing resources and programs, seeking health equity, and supporting effective local public health practice and systems. |
