The Colorado Trust's President and CEO to Retire
John has been with The Trust since it was founded in 1985 - first as legal counsel, and from 1991 forward as leader of the grantmaking foundation. Under his leadership, The Trust's endowment grew from $191 million to more than $460 million, with grants totaling $247 million having been made to nonprofit organizations in each of Colorado's 64 counties. "The value of John's leadership in ensuring that The Colorado Trust remains an important resource to the people of Colorado cannot be overstated," said Jerome M. Buckley, M.D., Chairman of The Trust's Board of Trustees. "John's extensive legal, financial, business and leadership experience would be an asset to any organization. But it was his unwavering commitment to the mission of the foundation, and passionate dedication to the people being served through The Trust's grantmaking that will be his true legacy. Through his work, John has earned the utmost respect of Trust staff, trustees and grantees, as well as colleagues in the nonprofit and health care communities. He will be missed tremendously by all of us." The Trust's Board of Trustees has selected EFL Associates to conduct a national search for a new CEO.
