 Statewide Conference Convenes Grantees
2006 Statewide Conference ProgramIn August 2006, The Colorado Trust hosted a three-day, statewide grantee conference - INSPIRATION. INITIATIVE. INNOVATION. In addition to providing opportunities for the nearly 400 participants to socialize and share lessons learned, the event convened current grantees for a series of presentations and breakout sessions exploring a range of timely topics - from cultural competency and inclusiveness, to fundraising and program sustainability.
The conference opening ceremony included extraordinary entertainment by a culturally diverse company of drummers, as well as a compelling keynote address by Geoffrey Canada, President and CEO of Harlem Children's Zone in New York City.
Grantees also had the opportunity to network with others in their geographic region who are working on different, but often related initiatives. Specifically, grantees shared perspectives to gain new ideas and make new connections for strengthening their work.
