Today we launched a new section on The Colorado Trust's website that is dedicated to tracking and informing public policy issues that could affect the health and well-being of Coloradans. On this new section of the site, we will monitor and share information about federal, state and local laws, regulations, bills, judicial decisions and political events. It will highlight information about Colorado health and fiscal policy, federal health care reform and national health policy, and will provide daily news updates, links to key publications and health policy-related websites. As a shared educational service, The Trust also is providing its grantees and the public with the ability to track the status of key health-related state and federal legislation and regulations.

Many of the investments and systemic changes needed to advance the health and well-being of Coloradans can only occur through government policies or action. By supporting advocacy and helping to inform public policy, The Trust hopes to maximize opportunities to improve the lives of our state's most vulnerable populations and achieve access to health for all Coloradans.

Over the past few years, The Trust has made several investments in advocacy and health policy work. It funded a three-year strategy to improve the capacity of nonprofit advocates, supported several key non-partisan policy studies and projects, and increased its internal capacity to understand the implications of policy issues.

We hope that this new health policy resource provides robust and valuable resources for grantees, advocates, decisionmakers and the public. We routinely will refresh the pages with timely updates and breaking health policy news. If you have suggestions about information that could inform public policy issues likely to affect the health and well-being of Coloradans, we'd love to hear from you. Please send us your ideas about key reports, articles, websites and other resources, and, please let us know what you think about this new resource.
